Well, sorry about that. We do really mean to post more often but life just gets busy. Lets see… well, I’ve started back to school. I’ve got quite a few classes this semester but at least most of my professors are interesting. I’m also still on the search for a job/internship. I’ll let y’all know when I get any good news. Breaking into the library field is proving to be difficult, but, as you all know, I love a good challenge.
Sean is quite busy as well. They are working a bit of overtime right now in order to finish up a current project. Deadlines, deadlines. He also started his French class on Saturday mornings. He will be taking it with Alliance Française of Austin. Go here to check out there website. It is a great organization and Sean likes the idea of smaller groups and lessons only once a week. It was hard for him to have free time last semester when he took his French class at Austin Community College. I’m sure he’ll write soon and let you all know how it’s going.
Well what else have we been up to. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey there,
Well Sean and I have settled into married life… :). I do hope you get the joke. Anyway I will be starting school this Thursday. I have two semesters left and I’m done. Whoa! My sister only has the one. Sean and I plan to attend her graduation this December and are very proud of Allie. She will be graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I believe she’s going to make a life for her self in Missouri, meaning Sean and I still have a good place to visit.
Well I’m just going to make a quick post today. I’m mainly writing to let you all know that the long awaited wedding photos have been uploaded to the site. Read the rest of this entry »

Well I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to write a post on our blog, but life here in France has kept me quite busy. I guess I should start from the beginning and give you all a brief history.
Well Sean left me on July 3rd to head back to the States. It was very hard to go from spending every day with my honey to not seeing him at all. But I made it to Jenny’s house in Zurich on July 3rd with no problems. She and I spent a lot of time catching up and shopping. I even had to buy something.
It was cold and I didn’t bring a sweater or coat, so I HAD to buy a sweater.
Anyway, we had a lot of fun. On the 4th we celebrated in style with good food and mixed drinks, very American. I was fortunate to meet a lot of Jenny and Chauncey’s friends while I was visiting. I think they have a pretty awesome life in Zurich and I’m quite jealous of them both. But I will get to have a little bit of Switzerland at home with me because Jenny and Chauncey bought Sean and I an authentic fondue pot with edelweiss on it. How awesome is that! I’ve found that living the bachelor life right after getting married is quite funny. Funny strange, not funny ha-ha. Melissa’s gone until the end of July, so I’m all by myself here in Austin. The chance to watch TV was fun for the first day, but soon after that it got kind of stale. I guess without cable my choices are limited. Either I watch shows on Joost or on demand from Netflix’s website. I think one man can only watch so much Hogan Knows Best and My Super Sweet Sixteen. I think it was a big shock to my system to go from spending every waking with Melissa to being by myself. I’ve tried to keep myself occupied by uploading a bunch of honeymoon photos and moving around all the boxes of gifts in the apartment. I think there was 12 UPS packages when I got back. If I had the camera, I could show you how much space they take up. I think we’ll have to move!

After many flight delays and cancellations, I finally made it home late last night. I’m still exhausting from the long day of traveling yesterday, so I’m going to make the message short.
Anyways, I’m going to spend a day with my family before heading back to Austin. Once I’m back and rested a little more, I’ll give everyone more details on our last couple of weeks. Until then, check out a sampling of pictures I uploaded in the Honeymoon Photos Album. You can find this in the Photos tab above.
I promise that when I get back to Austin I’ll see about uploading more wedding day photos.

Sean and I thought we would make a quick post online here to let you all know we arrived in London safely. Unfortunatly we both have pink eye! Boo!
Though we got medication and have a cute little B & B we’re staying in so life isn’t all bad. We’re going to check out some sights and we’ll talk to you all real soon.
Don’t forget to check back for more updates.

Hooray, we’re married! We were excited to see everyone at the wedding. We had a lot of fun and all of the congratulations and words of support meant a lot to us. Everything went off without a hitch… except when Melissa’s veil caught on fire. We had hoped there would be wedding pictures to post today, but I think the photographer wanted to edit some of them before she sends them to us. So, in the near future, I promise, we will have all them available.
Well, we’re in the middle of packing for the honeymoon and this will be the last post for a little while… unless we can find an internet cafe. So, you should hear from me in a couple of weeks. Until then, thanks for everything.

Our list of things to do is getting much shorter. The wine has been bought, the beer chosen, the programs have been made, and the table decorations and favors are in the process of being made. We also took some cute photos down at the arboretum. You can check them out in this gallery. The only things left to do is to pack! Melissa will be gone for 8 weeks and I will be gone for 3 weeks. For all those readers at my work, I apologize for the long absence, but I need a good long vacation.
It also happens that tonight is the night of my wild and crazy bachelor party. I’ll let you know how it goes… it will most likely be… interesting. Those pictures will not be uploaded.

I can’t believe it… we’ll be married in two weeks. Boy has the time flown by. It seems like it was only last week that we were booking the place for the wedding. There’s still also so many things left to be done! Lanterns need to made, wedding favors still need to be delivered, and Melissa’s ring is still not ready. I’m finding myself stressed over all of the little details. Luckily, everyone who has gone through this before is reassuring me that everything will work out. I think as long as we can get the whole Canadian beer situation worked out, everything will be fine (It’s a long story). We both never thought we would be this busy before the wedding… With work and school, it feels like we left everything to the last minute. Well, maybe not “we”, just “me”.
We do want to invite all the readers who are in the Austin area to come to a farewell get-together at the Lamar Austin Java on Sunday the 10th of June from 5-8pm. It’ll be a pretty informal drop-in kind of thing… We just want to get a chance to see everyone before we leave.
Please feel free to leave any words of encouragement in the comments.
