Well after crazy errand running this morning we made it to Lisa and Davids to meet Annabelle. She is the cutest thing! She looked just like David, but you could see a bit of mom in her too. We were so happy for them, and she is such a happy baby. We stayed and cooed for a few hours and then pulled ourselves away. We hope to drop in again this week. For now here is my only sneak peek!
IIIIIIIITTTSSS Wednesday! So this blog is just plain interesting. It is a photography meets fashion blog. The writer and photographer is Scott Schuman. Before The Sartorialist he worked in sales and marketing for high-end women’s designer collections such as Valentino and distribution companies like Onward Kashiyama, which at that time represented designers like Helmut Lang and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Eventually he opened his own showroom specializing in sales and press for young designer collections like James Coviello and Peter Som. Apparently he left his position as director of men’s fashion at his showroom to take care of his daughter, he began carrying a digital camera around and photographing people he saw on the street whose style he found striking. He then posted these to his blog. He is well known for photographing what have been described as ‘real people.’

David and Lisa’s bundle of joy arrived today!!! At 1:15 pm Annabelle Lily came into this world, weighing a whopping 8lbs 3oz and measuring in at 19.5 in long. I hear she has a head full of dark hair and that her parents melted the moment they saw her. Mom is a bit tired, as is Dad, but all are doing well!
Congratulations Friends!!! We are so very happy for the two of you. We can’t wait to meet her!
So all in all I had a great time in St. Louis. I got to spend five days sight seeing and enjoying my mom and sister. We had very nice accommodations, that my Uncle Larry was kind enough to provide, and Allie planned an amazing amount of things for us to do. We went to Schlafy’s for lunch, its a great local brewery. Then we nice evening with some friends of Allies. Friday we got up and headed to the Missouri Botanical Gardens and roamed around for hours. So beautiful! The afternoon was spent at Forest Park checking out the Art Museum and the park itself. Saturday we woke up early to take a guided tour of the Fox Theater and then met up with our cousin Cheryl and cousin-in-law (CJ’s wife) Heather. We had lunch, then checked out the zoo. We saw hippos, bears, penguins, giraffes, butterflies and more. After that we had dinner at the local Tex-Mex place. Odd… YES! I thought to myself, you wouldn’t take someone just off a plane from China to eat Chinese food. So why would you take a native Texan to eat Tex-Mex. However I was surprised as to how decent it was. Sunday was our lazy day, involving a tour of the Cathedral Basilica of St Louis and a ride along the river that ended in a glass of wine and a beautiful view. I’ve got tons of photos that I’ll put up soon, as I need to sort through them.
I hope you all had a good weekend too!
Well folks today’s Made it is so cute it isn’t funny!! I took a millinery class and made a hat! It is Feather Fascinator, or Cocktail Hat. It was quite easy to make and I had tons of fun. It is also a pretty reasonably priced hobby. I hope to make a cute little black dress to wear it with… Sean may be taking me on the town folks! Read the rest of this entry »
Well not really a jet, but a plane. Today I head to visit my sister in St. Louis. We haven’t seen each other since February! I feel like it has been longer than that. Time really does fly as the years pass by. My mom will be joining me for the five days I’ll be there and apparently on Saturday we will be having a mini cousin reunion. Not all the cousins from my dad’s side can make it, but more than half of us will be there. Fun times!
Well I’ll post photos and stuff when I return! Happy travels to everyone!
This week I have a treat. Are any of you wishing you could afford some piece of luxury furniture? Do you have those brief moments of “I could make that?” Well you probably can… with a little help from this weeks website. I found this website long ago and have been an avid follower. Ana is a stay at home mom, with, as she states in her about section, “expensive tastes.” She heartily states that money, or not, she can build along with the big guys and fills her home with stylish furniture, that also keeps her rather organized too.

Well for those of you who haven’t heard, Sean was bitten. Yes I said bitten, and it was by a dog. Our neighbors have a boxer that they apparently adopted about 6months to a year ago from the Boxer Rescue of Austin. While a good deed the dog came from an abused home and has not been trained at all. He has jumped on Sean before and he constantly barks during the day when I’m here.
Well anyway, last Wednesday Sean noticed they were out and our neighbors were not home. In an effort to be neighborly Sean went down the street to try to bring them back to fence them up. Well they were following him (its a boxer and a pug) and then the boxer got up in his man area to “play” and proceeded to bit him on his inner left thigh. When I saw what happened I was furious for two reasons (a) now Sean will not feel comfortable in our yard, which is his home and he should feel somewhat safe in that area, and (b) I wanted a dog! While taking Sean to get stitches he said that while he had been debating it, he was going to have to think a lot longer on it after this.
We went home and there were words with the police, our neighbors, and animal control. The dog has been quarantined for eleven days, but will be back early next week. I understand having a pet and I am trying really hard to see it from their perspective. Its their pet, a part of the family, and they love him, though they also have small children and I would personally put the dog down if it was mine as I wouldn’t trust it around my children after that. Oh well the police, animal control, and our HOA can take care of this.
If you’re squeamish don’t hit read on as I’m posting a photo of the stitched up bite… the un-stitched up photo is way to gross to post.
Well I’ve been threatening to make you all look at my garden for weeks now. So here goes! Read the rest of this entry »
