Well I guess this is the next chapter of life… what am I suppose to do now? Oh yea, get a job in a recession. Piece of cake! I hope everyone caught my sarcasm there. Seeing as my degree lends me to the public sector, non profit, humanitarian efforts, or business I’m kind of out of luck. I have applied for the jobs I can find and would prefer to work for a non profit or in a community setting in the public sector. I let you all know when something comes of any of my efforts to find a career. It sure is a good thing Sean has a job… or we’d be eating a lot more beans and rice. For now if does feel good to be done with my degree and get to work on some things I’ve been putting off, due to the lack of time during school. I’ve got some photography projects that hopefully I can work on for the next while. As I get some of them done I will try to load them up for you guys to check out. It will be some family archives and some personal projects as well. I’ve also recently taken up sewing and am working on some stuff there too. And my latest reads… not to do with school!!! have been about all the crazy green stuff available to us today. Green meaning eco-friendly. I’m going to try and not go nuts with this, but it is really interesting. Did you know they can make cloth out of bamboo? That the Agave plant, same one used to make tequila, can also be boiled to make a natural sweetener that is actually ok for diabetics to eat? And there’s a website out there on how to make homemade organic beer? How cool is that! I’m thinking about adding a tab to our main website so that I can add interesting facts and websites I find. Though I’ve got to work on my website building skills. Sean loves this stuff but is a firm believer that I should learn it too. I’m ok with that, I tell him the same thing when it comes to changing Abigail and Olivia’s diapers when we watch them.

Well I had a few minutes before my final exams start and I thought I’d let everyone know that Sean and I haven’t forgot about our blog here, we’ve just been really busy. As stated I’m starting my final today and they go through next Tuesday and Sean’s busying finishing up a big project a work. This weekend James and Melissa’s girls have their court date to finalize the adoption, their baptism is also this weekend. The next weekend I graduate and there will be plenty of family and friends here to celebrate, and at the same time I’ll be thinking of Allie (my sister) because she’ll be graduating the morning after I do. Then Sean’s brother Evan will be hanging out here in Austin with Sean, Julie and I, and at the end of that next week Julie girl will graduate as well. Then May will finish with Sean getting his citizenship and another party to celebrate. And as for other things going on well… my cousin Mark, of whom I consider my brother, got married last Friday to his longtime girlfriend Dee. It was all a bit last minute, but we wouldn’t have missed it for the world. We also went home a few weekends back to help my dad work on his house, of which he’s building by himself and wants to finish by mid summer. So! humph we’re supper busy.

I’ll try to put photos up from all that has happen and all that will happen soon. Also you can go to the graduation page Sean set up if you’re going to come to the get together we’re planning for the Saturday after I graduate.

Well if you couldn’t guess by the title… I’m so ready for school to be over! I have had enough of jumping through the bureaucratic hoops known as university and am ready to be back in the ‘real world.’ As of late Sean and I have been super busy. My busyness obviously pertains to school but Sean has been really busy with work lately. And though I used to be quite worried about his extra hours, at his new job he’s been really enjoying the work and learning quite a bit from it all.

As for what has happened lately, well…. my friend Becky turned 26 and moved to Memphis, TN. I haven’t heard from her yet so I hope she and her husband have gotten there safely. Hazel turned 2. They had a party for her and she got a penguin cake. She’s really into penguins. Melissa and Jame’s girls Abigail and Olivia will be 6 months in two weeks, Julie will be 22 the same day, and Lilly will turn 1 the same day as well. They’re all getting so big… well not Julie. But she’s had some job interviews so she’ll be making the ‘big’ bucks soon. Then a few days after that my sister Allie will turn 27. She’s got some interviews herself for nursing jobs in St. Louis this week. We’re going to be all grown up and have jobs soon. :p

We’re also going camping with Adam and Jessica for spring break next week. We’re both really looking forward to kicking back around a campfire and having a beer. We’re going somewhere south of San Antonio. I keep forgetting the name of the park. I’ll have to let you know when we get back. I am also getting to go to Los Angeles the week after spring break to see my friend Allison. I haven’t seen her since before Christmas and I’ve never been to her new pad, so I’m really looking forward to that as well.

Well I’m sure I’ve missed a million things but in short life is busy and good. I’ve added a cute video of Abigail giggling on the web site. I’ll try to add some camping trip and Los Angeles photos after I’m back.

Well I’m off to do more studying. Boo! But I’ve just got two more months, or as Kenny would say I’ve got two more intervals until I’m done.

Well I hope everyone had a good day. I don’t usually give in to the prefab American Holiday stuff, but it is nice that one day out of the year we are a little extra special to each other. Sean and I didn’t do too much. I took him to Mangia, his favorite pizza place here in Austin, and he took me to Quacks 43rd Street Bakery, my favorite cookie and coffee place in Austin. Then we stayed in for the evening and just relaxed. It was perfect.

Well we hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. We also hope you had as much fun ringing in the New Year as we did. We were lucky enough to be able to visit our friends Becky and Michael in Kentucky. They took us to a very remote town called Seco. There we met their friends and danced the evening away at a place called the Highland Winery. Yep, that’s right folks, they make wine in them hills. Needless to say we had a great time. We also spend a few days in Hazard where they’ve been living for the last two years. And as much as we enjoyed seeing a bit of Eastern Kentucky we’re happy they’re moving to Memphis, Tennessee. From what we understand they’ll be there starting at the end of February. We wish them safe travels and happy moving.

I mean happy holidays. Well, that time of year is almost upon us. Time for hoping for snow, bearing the crowds at the shopping malls, and putting out the decorations. It seems like it was only last week that we were making pecan pies for Thanksgiving. Wait… it was only a week ago.

Well, the rumors are true. I have a new job. At my old company, future prospects for my career were not bright. I realized it was time for a change when I was starting to feel my negative attitude bleed into everything else in my life… Even tinkering with my computer was lacking appeal. In the end, I just decided to see what else was out there. The only thing in my mind that was keeping me there was the great people. I will miss everyone there… I made a lot of good friends. I do wish them all the best of luck.

My new job has started off pretty well. The team is much smaller and much more focussed. Everyone is so friendly and talented. I have actually started doing real verification again after only a couple of days… It is something that I very much enjoy doing. The only downside so far has been the commute. It has turned out to be a least 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back. Usually the 30 minutes stretches to an hour on days where Melissa needs to get to school. Luckily, the traffic is mostly on 360, so I can’t complain about the gorgeous views.

Well, that’s it for now… If you want more details, you’re going to have to get together for lunch with me.

Well, sorry about that. We do really mean to post more often but life just gets busy. Lets see… well, I’ve started back to school. I’ve got quite a few classes this semester but at least most of my professors are interesting. I’m also still on the search for a job/internship. I’ll let y’all know when I get any good news. Breaking into the library field is proving to be difficult, but, as you all know, I love a good challenge.

Sean is quite busy as well. They are working a bit of overtime right now in order to finish up a current project. Deadlines, deadlines. He also started his French class on Saturday mornings. He will be taking it with Alliance Française of Austin. Go here to check out there website. It is a great organization and Sean likes the idea of smaller groups and lessons only once a week. It was hard for him to have free time last semester when he took his French class at Austin Community College. I’m sure he’ll write soon and let you all know how it’s going.

Hey there,

Well Sean and I have settled into married life… :). I do hope you get the joke. Anyway I will be starting school this Thursday. I have two semesters left and I’m done. Whoa! My sister only has the one. Sean and I plan to attend her graduation this December and are very proud of Allie. She will be graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I believe she’s going to make a life for her self in Missouri, meaning Sean and I still have a good place to visit.
