India

As you might have gathered from my last post, Sean recently went to India. He was obliged to go for business. I had not been home ten days from Europe when he received the news. I personally was a bit frustrated at the timing, but things don’t always happen when you want them to.

So Sean left for Bangalore, India on October 1st. He was due back October 29th, but due to some luck and persistence on Sean’s side he was able to come home two days early. I was quite glad to see him, had he been gone much longer I think I might have gone a bit out of my mind. Anyway, all is well now and righted in our little world. You’re welcome to check out the photos from his trip.

You should also check out this cute video of the puppies greeting Sean when he got home. Daisy was quite excited.

Home!

Well this is just going to be a quick note. I made it home after almost 24 hours of air travel and waiting. I was so very glad to see my hubbers! Then to get home and see my puppies! So wonderful!!! Daisy wouldn’t quit snuggling against my chest and whimpering. I think she missed me. :) Then Duke with his big wet kisses and wiggling his way onto the couch. So good to see all three of them!

Well I’m sure I will call and catch up with each of you soon!

So glad to be back!

Home Sick from Spain

Well we made it to Spain this morning. The weather is quite a bit warmer here, probably a good thing, I need to start the re-acclimation process before I head back to Texas. Though if you all could work on that and cool it off just a bit before I return I would sincerely appreciate it. ;) Julie and Courtney went off successfully with their tour group and I decided to do some wondering in Valencia myself. It is a quaint town, with a nice metro system. Big plus!

After relaxing peacefully for a while I decided to check out to the beach. Sorry no photos. I have to admit it was nice to be free of all the luggage and tourist gear. Staying in a hotel has its upside! Maybe not as charming, or culturally motivating as hostels, but nice in their own way.

Anyway, while sitting along the beach I couldn’t help but breathe in the beauty and salt air. That smell always makes me think of Texas. Growing up next to the coast will do that to a person I guess. I’m not one for emotional outburst… well at least not when it involves crying and getting upset, but it happened. I had thought to myself, ‘this is bliss.’ Then I thought, ‘well it would be if Sean and the puppies were here.’ As the sky turned various shades of orange and the breeze got a bit cold I just started crying.

After a few moments of trying to pull myself together a nice Spaniard stopped to ask if I was ok. Seeing as he didn’t speak very much English and I speak muy poco español it was quite a funny conversation. And by the end I was laughing quite hard, and crying even more due to the laughter. It was a good way to realize I was being a bit silly; I’ll be home in only a few days. I need to finish soaking up the culture and enjoy the scenery. Not everyone is so blessed to be able to take a trip like this.

However upon returning to the hotel I realized how much of my happiness revolves around one tall, dark and quite handsome Canadian-American. He is truly my other half. After having the time to get to know Julie better (quite thankful for that opportunity), the reading, the new sights, the culture, the languages, the food, visiting good friends, and having the quite times to soul search and reflect, while thankful for it all, I’m ready to be held by my hubbers.

Well, I sign off now, from what will probably by my last update while abroad, a very home sick girl. See you all soon.

European Vacation Photos

I’ve uploaded about a hundred photos from our trip. There’s a ton more, but I thought everyone wouldn’t want to see all my pictures of marble columns and random statues.  Stay tuned for more once Melissa returns.  Click on the leaning tower below to go to the gallery.

I LOVE Bruges!

My new favorite place is Bruges, Belgium! Here are some quick photos. First, Laundry! How are we supposed to know what to do when it is all in Flemish!?! Then a tour on the canal… AWESOME! Aren’t we cute together!?! Then, MUST have Belgium fries under the 13th century belfry! YUM!!! I didn’t have two, just holding Julies, though I could have! Good stuff! Then hiding from the rain on our walking tour. Good fun, and we met some great people too. After…. Waffles!!!! YES PLEASE! Then more rain. Not really that upsetting, as before getting to Europe we were wondering if it existed. It does! Beautiful!! The dinner. More fries!!! And local mussels! Best part about traveling with Julie so far… we love the same foods and we both are pretty adventuresome! Sweet!!! Which leads me to the last photo… chocolate boobs! Just plain humorous! Until the next good internet connection! We’re off to Calais and then England tomorrow! (Sorry if the photos aren’t in order, having internet connection issues. )

Munich Food Market!

Today Julie and I went to the Viktualienmarkt! It was Julie’s first open market to look through and I think it was a hit! You can see for yourself in these few photos.

Europe Part 2

Well I left Sean at the airport around 6am Zurich time. I have never been so jealous of someone going home. I’m happy to know he will be coming home to friends and family that I know will take good care of him! I’ve also never felt that much anxiety in watching someone go. Sean is my other half, and I just feel I have my best asset when he’s near by, and I feel more at home when he’s close by. I’m going to be fine though, just an odd feeling for a person who has felt like I needed to be somewhere else most my life and that has mild commitment issues. ;)

As for myself, Julie and I will probably spend the morning regrouping and relaxing at Jenny and Chauncey’s. Then around 1 we leave for Germany. I’ll be home three weeks from today ( in Texas time ;) ). I think Julie and I are going to do just fine. We seem to be on the same page and going at the same pace.

This will most likely be my last post until I’m home, as I’m not sure what my Internet accessibility will be from this point on. If I have the chance I will definitely put something up. I’m pretty sure Sean will post something in a day or two to let you all know how he’s getting on.

See you all soon!

JULIE!!!!!!

Just wanted to update you all! Julie made it in early this morning Swiss time. She is currently about to fall asleep. Traveling is tough work! We were really glad to see her and I’m excited for our upcoming travels.

On a side note, we completely for got to ask if someone would pick Sean up from the airport Sunday, and only realized it when we were checking in with family. Oops! Thankfully our amazing friends Monica and Aaron came to the rescue! Thanks so much guys!!!

I’m sure Sean will update things in a few days. We’ve enjoyed it all, but we sure do miss you guys and our puppies!

Just some photos! We ❤ Florence!
