So I’m Texan and he’s Canadian. You get the name now, right? We met at the ripe old age of 16.
I know, high school sweet hearts.
He moved to my home town, and as my mom puts it, “he’s the only one she hadn’t dated.” I should clarify, my actual hometown has like 3,500 people, there were only like 5 or 6 boys close to my age. Makes more sense now doesn’t it.
I should also say that he is now Canadian-American, though he still occasionally spouts an Eh! or say a very proper A in a word like taco.
We had our bumps, he moved to Austin, I moved to Switzerland, but we’ve always found our way back to each other. In 2007 we made it legal. In 2009 we bought our first house. In 2010 we adopted our wonderful, sweet, amazing puppies Duke and Daisy (They’re Great Dane and… we think Staffordshire Terrier, mom wasn’t talking
).
What’s next for us? Hell I don’t know! But we do love our family, our extended families (close and far), our friends (even the ones who live very far away), and trying new things. We currently enjoy gardening, cycling, remodeling our home, training the puppies, baking, eating, cooking, eating more, board games, holidays, technology, camping, photography, TV, traveling, more baking, and lounging. I’m sure I missed a few, but that’s the general idea of what happens around here.
What do we do professionally? Sean’s a smartie. Translation, Electrical Engineer. He works for a company here in Austin and enjoys the challenges and people. Me? Currently I’m dabbling in Photography and Massage Therapy. But hey, that could change, I mean I started this journey thinking I’d become an international translator or ambassador… I love to learn, try, organize, and delegate. What can I say!?! For now I love the freedom I have, and I’m grateful that my lack of job, especially in the current economy, isn’t a big deal for us. Could that change? Ah heck, I try to plan too much in my life, I can’t think about that too!
For now, you’re welcome to cruise the blog. I try to update often, but I do like living my life sooooo… yea sometimes I get behind. Roll with it.
