“Check Back Later”

I used to hate that when the magic eight ball said that. I don’t see them around too much anymore, but the other day I saw this kid playing with something that looked like one but totally wasn’t the “real” thing. Thus I spent a few minutes researching and totally found a tutorial for one. Rock on eighties style people!

Anyway, click on the photo and it will take you to the tutorial. They call it the oracle of love, but the kid I saw had stars and stuff on his… so I say magic eight ball. ;-)

Trying Something New

So I’ve been trying to come up with routine blog posts. I think my first will be ‘Website Wednesday.’ Reason being, I love all the great websites out there. I’ve found so many sites on local stuff, cooking, photography, gardening, crafting, quilting, home appliances, clothes, and more that I think it only fair to share. Thus, from this point forward… well until I forget on a routine basis ;) I am going to try and post my favorite websites as of late. I’ve got about 100 that I check routinely,  so we’ve got at least the next two years covered.

Well what should my first one be… crafts… photography… gardening… nope, I think food.

Who knew!

I have loved pop tarts for ever! But they’re not very good for you. Thus I haven’t had one in years. I’ve been trying to eat things that have very few preservatives, little salt, no artificial sugars, and with words I can’t pronounce on the package. Yep we make a lot of food from scratch around here.

Anyway back to the pop tarts. Sean was web surfing the other day and found what I think may be one of my new favorite blogs. The Smitten Kitchen! Well she recently made these: read more »

They made it!

Well Sean and Aaron made the finish line, both a little worse for the wear but all in one piece! Sean said the ride was very beautiful and the hills not as bad as they looked on the elevation map. I figure that’s a good thing. Monica and I were a bit blurry-eyed at 5:30am, but went for breakfast at Kerby because we were already up. We had a very nice time and then met up later that day at the finish line. They estimated their arrival for 1 to 2pm, my bet was 3pm. They came in at 3:06pm… whoot! I nailed that one. ;)

By time they got in I was starting to feel the sun. It was actually rather warm today. I have a bit of a sunburn to prove it. :) The boys ate their victory dinner of brauts, sauerkraut, and coleslaw. They chased it with cold beer direct from the Shiner Brewery. Monica and I joined in read more »

Shiner Ride

Well we were up pretty early this morning to get Sean to Aaron and Monica’s house. The boys are doing the Shiner GHASP 100 mile ride together. I’m pretty proud of them both and can’t wait to see them at the finish line. Here’s what they looked like at 5:30am:

It will be interesting to see what they look like at 5:30pm. ;) Hope you all have a good Saturday!!!
