Hmmm, so what should I do for Monday?

So in the spirit of my regular posts for Wednesday I think I’m going to try something like that for Mondays too. This one may not be as often, and I may not always post something I made that day, but it could be fun. I’m going to call it ‘Made it Monday.’ I’ll post things I’ve made for friends, stuff for our house, and more. So you’ll seeing sewing, photography, gardening, painting, cooking and maybe a bit more. I’ll do my best to post where I got the inspiration from as well. This may be more like an every other week entry, but we’ll see.

So for today… I’ll show you a bit of what I did last Wednesday evening. So I found this great place in Austin to take sewing classes. It is one of my two favorite places. The first being the Stitching Studio with Ann Randal. I’ve taken many a sewing class from Ann. I’ve also helped out with some of her community sewing in all the volunteering I’ve done lately. As for the new place I’ve taken a few classes, its called the Stitch Lab and is owned and operated by Leslie Bonnell. I took a roman shade class a few weeks back, that was taught by Leslie. She’s a great lady and I enjoyed her teaching style.

As for last Wednesday, I took a class at the Stitch Lab from Anne Marie Beard. She makes the cutest stuff and I’ve been wanting to take a class that involved zippers for a while. Anyway I had a great time and here’s my finished product:

Oh yes folks that’s a working zipper. Whoot! For being awesome!!! To be honest it took a few silent curse words, but it was all worth it when it worked. I’m dreaming up my next zipper project as we speak…

By the way, I should thank for the fabric Sally! She seems to find the cutest stuff and I get it for holidays and special occasions. Usually I sit on it a while, but I always find a cute use for the fabric! Until the next Made it update!
