Baby Shower

Well today we spent the afternoon with friends celebrating the impending arrival of their little girl. We met Lisa and David about a year and a half ago, we instantly hit it off and have enjoyed many an evening hanging out with them. We are so very thrilled that they are expecting and can’t wait to meet their little girl. If you click the photo it will take you to some more photos from the afternoon. Please note that I’m taking a photography class and not all the photos are perfect because I’m in manual mode baby. ;)

As for gifts, well lets just say I didn’t get too much from her registry. I felt a bit bad about that, as I’m sure they need the stuff on the registry, but I had SEW much fun sewing up things for them! I hope they enjoyed them. Here are some photos of what I made for the bundle of joy… and mommy and daddy.

(Left is a blanket that attaches easily to your infant car seat. This way baby stays warm and undisturbed while sleeping. Right is a hanging baby helper. You put it next to the changing table and load it with all the baby essentials. I’d have to say this was the hardest thing I’ve made. You can tell too as it looks very homemade. elastic ain’t easy folks. :) )

(Left is a baby outfit. I was pretty proud at how it turned out. It should fit a 0-3 month old baby. I hope they can use it. If not I had fun making my first baby bloomers. :) Right is my favorite. I found the pattern off of a website called Purl Bee. Too cute!!! It is a lamb, obviously, made out of wool and stuffed. It is not only functional as a baby toy, but a learning tool too. ;) )

Well all in all I had fun making the baby items and look forward to the next few folks on my list that will receive Melissa originals. Lisa and David were fortunate enough to know a few crafty people and received a beautiful textural quilt from Monica and Elena made an cute elephant blanket for baby too.
