Making the best of the gloom
Well I’m sure the rest of you are tired of cold, rain, and clouds. I feel like I need to order one of those light boxes and sit in front of it all day… and find where they sell self heating socks. I tend to stay pretty warm, except for my feel. The hubbers is getting a bit conscientious about the heating bill. I love him, but doesn’t he remember that we’re not all able to withstand the freezing weather that his Canadian blood can. Oh well, I’ll just keep blaming the sudden spike in the heating temperature on ghosts, the wind, and a faulty thermostat. He’ll buy that right?
Anyway to combat the gloom we’ve hung out with friends and family. That always helps! I made stew Friday and we played boardgames and laughed with some friends, very fun and uplifting. And yesterday we had Sean’s sister Julie over. Sean made burgers to rival any burger place and sweet potato fries…. mmmm. Then we played a game, which I won Yea!!!! And then Julie introduced us to Fringe, the TV show. I’m still not convinced, but she left the first season over so we will give a few more episodes a go.
As for today, we were supposed to be heading to Houston but my work got pushed back. So what to do with ourselves…? I think we’ll be heading to the gym in a moment and then Julie has invited us for Superbowl watching. I think I may go for the pre-game food and fun and then cut out at game time. I just don’t like the idea of four hours of football, even if there will be a great halftime and some funny commercials. Hope she understands.
As for my last thought to help with the gloom… go here: My Ikea Name
You type in your name and it tells you what you would be called if you were a piece of Ikea furniture. Apparently Sean and I are: SEANVIK (a platform bed) & MELLYSVSA (and end table with two drawers).
Hope that cheers you up!
