Home for the holidays.

Sean and I made our way bake to Lake Jackson last week after a few days of cleaning up around the place… and last minute shopping. Who knew buying a house would put us so far behind in gift buying and card sending. Well we made it there safe Wednesday evening to enjoy a belated birthday celebration with Sean’s family. He got some man tools!

Christmas Eve day we spent catching up with old friends. I miss seeing Beth!!! We had a lot of fun playing with Hazel and catching up with Beth. We will get to see Adam all together one of these days. :) After catching up we headed to my Pawpaw’s house, where I was supposed to cook a nice meal. Well… I got food poisoning somehow and well it wasn’t pretty. Sean saved the day and from the comments of others I know it turned out great! We also opened presents with my Dad and Pawpaw, yea for more tools! Then we proceeded to talk politics and weddings… who would have thought. ;)

Christmas Day we spent with Sean’s family. Julie showed up late Christmas Eve by surprise. She had won the lottery at work and had the choice to work or not Christmas Eve… well what would anyone else choose!?! It was pretty fun to open gifts Christmas morning and enjoy food and TV the rest of the day. Sally made a lovely dinner and Dickson flamed another beautiful pudding. It was a very warm day spent with family in our PJ’s!

Saturday, after a few errands and gift drop offs, we spent the day chilling at my Mom’s place. We watched some classics and enjoyed the much needed down time. My mom’s family celebrated Christmas on Sunday. Mom made a beautiful roast for lunch and all sorts of sides. I actually got to eat a reasonable portion of it as my tummy was starting to recover. We then opened gifts with family, told stories and caught up with one another the rest of the day.

Monday we had to head back, but before we left we caught up with my friend Allison and her boyfriend Varoujan. It is always good to see friends you haven’t seen in almost a YEAR! We had chick-fil-a, a request of Allison’s since they don’t have that in Los Angeles. We then wedged ourselves in our very packed car and headed for the hills… well Austin has some hills. :)

All in all it was a busy holiday, but filled with good family and friends. Yea to another wonderful holiday!!!
