Well, we have still had no luck in purchasing a home. We’ve made three bids now and they have all not worked out. The first, we were out bid. The second, there were just too many problems and the seller wouldn’t negotiate. The third, we were hopeful until we had the foundation guys out and they told us there was a seven inch deflection in the foundation and the appraisers wouldn’t let that fly. Thus it would be too expensive and dangerous for us to fix and we had to pass. I really liked that house.
Now we’ve gone a hunting again and we are on to house number four. We like this one as much as we’ve liked the others. We don’t plan on living in this house for more than five years, but our criteria includes that we could be in this home for up to ten. We just want a simple one story, in south Austin, three bed, two bath, two car garage, with a dining area, living area, kitchen and a patch of grass to grow something on. I’d prefer gas cooking and an extra area of flex space in the home. I don’t want anything too much bigger than about 1500 square feet. I’d be happy to have a fire place, but we do live in Texas… so not a necessity. I’d prefer an older home as they’ve got a lot of character, but newer is ok. I don’t really want and HOA but the neighborhood would be nicer if there is one, so whatever (unless its really expensive). I’d love it if I could own chickens as in certain parts of Austin it is considered a domestic pet, but I don’t have to have them as maybe Sean will let me have puppies. I’d also like a porch with a fan on it for suppers in my patch of grass. I think I’m being rather flexible compared to most.
Dear Austin,
Quit being a pain in our back sides. It would be nice if the housing market would slow down here long enough for us to close on a home.
Thanks,
Sean and Melissa
I’ll mail that to the governor and see what he can work out. In the meantime pray this is the house we’re suppose to have and that all will go well. We hope you are all doing well and we are getting very excited about our trip to Canada. T minus fourteen days!!!! Canadian family here we come.
Today I am thankful for the cooler weather, the complement my mom gave me the other day on the phone, and my rights as an American citizen.
