Sad and Grouchy

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

I got a call early this afternoon from my good friend Jenny. Her father was out cycling on Sunday and was hit by a car. He passed away yesterday. She flew in from Switzerland and Chauncey will be getting in this evening. It’s just crazy how quickly life changes. I wish I could have flown to Houston immediately and given her a hug as I feel that none of the words I had for her really helped. I hope all of you will keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this sad time.

After hearing from Jenny it made me think of all the people that I haven’t talked to in a while. I wrote some emails and made some phone calls to tell people that I love them. But then I got grouchy. (more…)

Austin is crazy this time of year with festivals, spring break and good weather. It’s the way we like it!

For example, I was able to chat with my friend Jenny today who lives in Zurich. (more…)

Baby Quilt

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

My sister’s friend Abby is having a baby and Allie wanted to get her something special. We chatted about it and decided a personal gift would be awesome. So I went to work making a soft yellow hued quilt. Allie gave it to Abby this past Sunday at her baby shower, and, thankfully, she really liked it.

I was glad I could help and it was even more fun because it was my first finished quilt gift. Check it out.

It’s almost spring people! I can’t believe how time flies.

Well we’ve been keeping busy lately, over Valentines Day weekend we went to Granbury, TX to visit my friend Allison and her new beau Varoujan. We had a great time and just wished we had more to spend there with them. Here’s a photo of the four of us:

Then there was Hazel’s birthday! (more…)
