Voting

Well I hope everyone got to go to early voting or will vote sometime next Tuesday. Sean got to vote for the first time in his life. He left Canada to young to vote for anything there and until this past summer couldn’t vote here. Well now that he’s a citizen he has gone and done his civic duty… no I didn’t take photos but I was really proud.

The first thing he said after he came out was read more »

Forbes!

Well I’ve got to dote on Sean again.

While most all industries are going through a crunch right now Luminary Micro is pushing right on through. They’ve got another article out and this time it was with Forbes Magazine! How awesome is that!

Primitive!

So Sean and I decided to go camping. We packed our gear, loaded the car and headed for the lovely hills of west Texas to Lost Maples State Natural Area. We have heard from several other friends, that love to camp, how amazing it is and so I made reservations a few months back. Well as we were approaching our destination Sean noticed our reservation said ‘primitive’ next to it. Fretting a bit, we soon found it meant a roughly 1.2 mile hike into wilderness to the ‘closest’ campsite, and that the site had no facilities… well it had a composting toilet a hundred yards or so from where we camped, thus I shouldn’t exaggerate… it had almost no facilities. ;)

Mom turns 29 (again) and seeing old friends….

Well my mom came to town last weekend for her birthday. She got in early Saturday and we went to the Sunset Valley Farmers Market. We got some things for a good Sunday dinner and then we spent the afternoon hanging out and chatting. Mom wanted Brick Oven for her birthday dinner and then we took her to Amy’s for dessert. Sunday, not only did we have a good meal of ribs, fresh okra, and salad, she helped us clean up our new porch and replant everything. You know mom and her green thumb, our porch now looks amazing and some how we have twice as many plants. ;)

Then on Monday we drove out near Lockhart, Texas to see some old friends. I’m sure we all know that it takes a village to raise kids and read more »

Purses!

So we went to Monica and Aaron’s Wedding and it was BEAUTIFUL! She looked like Cinderella and he made for a great Prince Charming. I put the photos up on the website as well as many other I’ve been meaning to put up for a while so check’em out.

Back to the wedding, read more »

Hurricanes, moving, birthdays and weddings… Oh my!

*UPDATE* 10/06/08 – Photo links have been added to this page.

Well I figure by the title it is evident that the last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy. To begin with mom, uncle Larry and a friend of mom’s came to visit during Ike. Sean’s parents were also here with a friend as well but they were able to stay in Julie’s new place. For our end, we had a great time. It was fun to have family here to take for some Austin sight seeing and some good Austin food. Though I’ll admit that I forgot how early they get up and go to bed! I don’t function very well before 7am in the morning!

As it turns out most of our family and friends back along the coast fared the storm pretty well. Though there were a couple of exceptions, read more »
