All By Myself… Well, not really
I’ve found that living the bachelor life right after getting married is quite funny. Funny strange, not funny ha-ha. Melissa’s gone until the end of July, so I’m all by myself here in Austin. The chance to watch TV was fun for the first day, but soon after that it got kind of stale. I guess without cable my choices are limited. Either I watch shows on Joost or on demand from Netflix’s website. I think one man can only watch so much Hogan Knows Best and My Super Sweet Sixteen. I think it was a big shock to my system to go from spending every waking with Melissa to being by myself. I’ve tried to keep myself occupied by uploading a bunch of honeymoon photos and moving around all the boxes of gifts in the apartment. I think there was 12 UPS packages when I got back. If I had the camera, I could show you how much space they take up. I think we’ll have to move!
For all the people wondering, we’re still without the large majority of the wedding photos. We do have a select few and I’ve uploaded them into an album in the wedding section of the photo page. Here’s one of my favorites. Click on it to see more.
I’ve uploaded about 200 photos from the honeymoon. You can follow our journey from London to Paris, to Le Bousquet d’Orb, and finally to Geneva. I’m slowly adding comments to the pictures so you will know what’s going on in each of the pictures. There’s also an album showing pictures in that we took of ourselves throughout the entire trip. We thought it would be fun to turn the camera around and take a picture of us in every place that we visited.
We had a great time in Europe. Other than the pink-eye, everything went smoothly and we had a lot of fun. We ate a lot of good food, drank a lot of good wine, visited a lot of interesting places, and took time just to relax. All in all, we just enjoyed having no work and no wedding planning to worry about.
Anyways, I have had a chance to talk to Melissa a couple of times since I left her. Other than a hurt ankle (a long story), she’s having a wonderful time in Amiens. It sounds like she’s getting to learn a lot of French. Yesterday, she took the train to another town to see the Tour de France. She does have Internet sometimes during the day, so I’ll see if I can convince her to post a message.
Well, it’s getting late and I don’t think I should also fall into a bachelor’s sleeping schedule.
Santé,
Sean
